The Apartment @ The Curve

The year end is a great time to go shopping. Plus it was a weekend! So taking the sales and the weekend crowd into account... Why not? So Leng Chai and I bundled into the car and headed off to a day of shopping... and food.

This time around we decided to try a relatively new place called The Apartment. The management wanted to convey the feeling of being in your very own, well, apartment, I guess. There were cushions, flower beds, and long wooden dining table, bookshelf. It would seem to be a very up-scale apartment to me.

They have a wide variety of cocktails and house pours. However the menu was a little sparse.

Raspberry cooler with water.

Local mussels cooked in The Apartment style. Comes with fresh bread. It can easily feed 3. The Apartment dressing is made from lime juice, chillies and ginger. It's very good.

Lemon Sole with mashed potatoes and watercress (I think) salad. Leng Chai ordered this out of curiosity. I loved the mash but not so fond of the salad. There was no dressing on it. Some balsamic vinegar would have been nice.

My dish of Andrew's Pasta. My personal recommendation is to find a friend to eat this with you. The portions are quite big! The pasta comes with baby potatoes.

The dishes were quite filling. Or perhaps we stuffed ourselves silly on the bread dipped in the mussel sauce. Prices range from RM10-RM50. I didn't really like the pasta as the sauce clung to the fettuccine and made it very 'heavy'.

Johnny's Restaurant @ Berjaya Times Square

Thai Tea
Comic Fiesta 2007 was a blast and after 2 days to costuming, dealing and being quished like mashed potatoes, CK and I sat down to a nice quiet meal at Johnny's. Not wanting to overburden our ravenous selves, we decided on the dinner set instead of the usual steamboat. The main course comes with Thai Tea which tasted pandan-ish, the soup of the day and ice-cream for dessert. All for the toal of RM5.80.

Green Tea Noodles with Chicken
CK found the noodles to his liking and he said that the taste of the green tea went well with the chicken.

Tom Yam Mee Hoon
The tom yam came with king prawns. It wasn't very fresh though. The soup was good. With all the spices in place and good for those who has an average Malaysian's tastebuds. Nevertheless, I would have liked mine to be a tad spicier. The portion for the tomyam was quite big and I think that 2 people could have easily shared the meal.
