Delicious Cafe @ I Utama

After a day of work-clothes shopping, Nemo, Leng chai and I decided to head on to Delicious for a late night bite. Mind you, this was a 9pm dinner.

Death by Chocolate

Yes, we needed a chocolate fix. However the chocolate syrup was all frozen to the spoon. It would have been nicer if the chocolate could have been mixed first before adding in the ice-cream.

Ceaser Salad
A personal fave or mine. In all it's simplicity of turkey bacon and poached egg with their own 'croutons', it's a salad that will make you forget all other Ceaser salads that you ever had! You may choose to add chicken or salmon to it but I prefer mine plain and simple. The cafe also serves other salads such as Thai Beef Salad and Gado-Gado.

French Onion Soup

Four Cheese Macaroni
Beware of the cheesiness of this dish. It is after all, called Four Cheese Macaroni. The dish is great to share between people as no one can take in that much of cheese at one go. A great side dish to a main course if you wish to dabble your palatte in something else. The salad that comes with it made me wish that it had some dressing on it. A dash of lemon juice or olive oil would have been a nice touch.

Blackberry Apple Crumble

Tiramisu in a glass

DELIcious cafe made a name for itself through its' desserts and through word of mouth lead me there. So the desserts are a must try. Although names such as Lemongrass Mango Cheesecake may sound a bit daunting, the taste is one to remember.

Bao Bao Restaurant @ Pandan Indah

One of my favourite places for pan meen! It's the Bao Bao Pan Meen! They have branches at Aman Suria and Bandar Puchong Jaya.

I never knew about the place until CK brought me to this place when I first visited him at his house. And that was 3 years ago. Until now no Pan Meen has ever measured up to that...in my books.

Avoid going there at lunch time or you may be faced waiting for quite awhile. The place is always packed irregardless of the heat of the day. But waiting for your pan meen is worth it.

This is my slurpy bowl of pan meen. With extremely nice fried tau foo pok, meat balls and flavourful soup. If you prefer, a side dish of fried ikan bilis will be given at extra cost.

The herbal tea and 4 different kinds of chillies. There used to be 6 kinds but I think 4 is still more than enough.

Seo Gung @ SS2

Roasting beef on the grill

Ahhh... this rainy day brings CK and I to Seo Gung for some nice piping off straight off the fire. And in this case, literally. Seo Gung was recommended to us by Yean Peng who loved their citron tea. This place can be bit pricey though if you don't go with the sets offered. Serving mostly pork and beef, it's a piggy heaven for me and not for CK.

Hot coals are placed under the grill to cook your meat to perfection. However I felt that it would have been nicer if we were left to grill the meat by ourselves instead of the waiter coming to it for us. For those not used to such hands-on experience, a waiter can then be called.

I really wanted to grill the meat myself.

Some of the numerous side dishes.

Bibimpap

This dish is the staple dish in every Korean restaurant. I am hooked onto this dish and seek it out wherever I go. The portions were slightly larger than normal but the sauce was a bit weak. The waiter wanted to take away my fun of mixing up my own meal. Luckily I managed to stop him in time.
Kimchi soup with pork
Homemade kimchi is the best as no kimchi is alike for any Korean family. In the soup, it tastes even better. It warmed the cockles of my heart.

Lemang @ Tmn Seri Sentosa, Off Old Klang Road

It only happens during Raya. When you see great bonfires being lit and strange bamboo rods being smoked... It is the season of LEMANG!!!

And me being a lemang fan, couldn't help the temptation of the sticky glutinous rice! After trying various 'lemang's, I would have to say that the best one ( in terms of size and money value) would be in Taman Seri Sentosa, opposite Checker hypermart.

This is the medium sized lemang that I bought for RM8. The larger ones are going for RM9. A portion enough to feed 4!

And lemang can never go wrong with curry. Please note that this lemang stall does not sell curry. The curry is my own.

Lemang is only available for a limited time only!

Lemang Stall,
Jalan Taman Seri Sentosa,
Bt 6 1/2, Jalan Klang Lama,
58000 Kuala Lumpur
Open: 12pm until lemang finishes. :)

(To get here, drive to Old Klang Road from KL. After passing by the Puchong Police Station towards PJ, keep an eye out for the Taman Seri Sentosa signboard just before a traffic light on your left. Turn in and keep driving past the shophouses, condos and the petrol station. Slow down after 500 m and you will see Checkers on your left. The lemang stall is directly opposite it on the right)

Taiwan House @ Ampang

For a change CK and I decided to revisit a shop that we hadn't been to for a year.

If you ever needed a beef noodle fix and happen to be in Ampang, do drop by here! Their first outlet is in Ampang Point but that place was getting clautrophobic so they set up a second 2-storey branch near the Habib Jewels just outside the mall.
The menu is relatively quite simple. With sets costing RM9, the main meal comes with a bowl of soup and a drink . Chinese tea or Winter melon. If beef doesn't strike your fancy, there is always fishball noodles, chicken noodles, dumplings, etc.

I went for the rice beef set. However I felt disappointed when I was served. The portion seemed smaller than what it used to be in the past and the sauce was flavoured in ajinomoto. Thirst grabbed at me when I was done. Furthermore the potato salad accompanying my rice was a tad sad with 5 pieces of potato sticks and carrot sticks!

CK opted for the dry beef noodles and he faired better. He had a good portion of the noodles with juicy beef.
